Inside FIBC Testing Labs: A Look at Drop, Lift, and UV Tests

يوليو 01, 2025 بواسطة روي

FIBCs stand for Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers, otherwise known as bulk bags. At first glance, they look like sacks that hold raw rice, but these bags are actually industrial containers made of flexible yet durable fabric, usually مادة البولي بروبيلين المنسوجة. They are used to store and transport materials, such as powders, granules, and pellets.

These bulk lift أكياس فيبك are filled with impressive features, which is why they can provide for the specifications of various industries, such as agriculture, construction, chemicals, food, and mining.

But, in order to stay ahead of their purpose, they must be made right. Take a look at what’s inside FIBC testing labs in this guide, tackling the following pointers:

– The top lift test ensures loop strength

– The drop test simulates real-world accidents

– The UV resistance test protects against sun degradation

– How XIFA Group’s in-house labs work

The Top Lift Test: Ensuring Loop Strength

Top lift tests or FIBC bag lifting are used to assess the safety factor ratings and the abilities of the bags to hold specific material weight, such as holding rocks when transporting mining materials.

This safety test is crucial to assess whether or not the FIBC could withstand lifting forces, ensuring it could safely be handled during transport and storage. This test is a key component of the process for UN-certified FIBC bags and to verify the Safe Working Load or SWL of these FIBCs.

The top lift test is a key factor as well for ensuring better FIBC quality and loop strength. This, by suspending a filled bag from lifting loops and applying loads up to around five times its SWL. To pass the test, the bag must be strong against repeated lifting cycles and loads without damage. This is what loop strength is about.

The Drop Test: Simulating Real-World Accidents

Drop tests tell a lot about the durability of materials. So, aside from ensuring good FIBC bag lifting capacity, there is also a need that nothing bad will happen to either the bag or the items it holds during handling or transportation, in case the bag gets dropped.

Drop tests are also crucial parts of ensuring UN-certified FIBC bags work seamlessly. This test mimics the impact of bags getting dropped in the middle of transport, for instance.

Passing this FIBC quality test means that the bag can keep whatever it holds intact whenever dropped from a certain height. This test is very important particularly for FIBCs used to transport hazardous materials, so workers are also safe around.

The UV Resistance Test: Protecting Against Sun Degradation

FIBCs, such as those crafted by XIFA Group, are used for a wide range of applications, for food, mining, agriculture, construction, animal raising, chemicals, and even for flood control. So, the pressure is on to guarantee they are of the highest FIBC quality. Another test is the UV resistance test.

On the other hand, UV resistance tests for FIBC quality focus are present to assess how well the fabric protects against degradation from prolonged exposure to ultraviolet radiation. As you know, transport of industry materials mostly happen outdoors.

This test is important to ensure your bulk lift FIBC maintains the most of its structural integrity, including how it can safely contain materials, especially when stored under the heat of the sun.

So, a drop test also guarantees your materials are away from sun degradation, which could, of course, damage their quality and performance.

Via a UV resistance test, FIBC materials are exposed to simulated sunlight, which measures their retained strength following exposure, ensuring your bags are protected from sun-induced degradation and maintain durability whenever used outdoors.
